Hefeweizen

The Story

A true, old-school Bavarian classic! Literally a ‘yeast-wheat beer’, hops take a back seat in the hefeweizen style and malt and yeast are the heroes. The beer is naturally cloudy because of the high proportion of wheat used in the brewing process, and the specialised yeast strains are famous for producing banana and clove notes in the glass. Carbonated slightly higher than usual, Hefe is a surprisingly refreshing and easy-drinking beer.
